YCTI Course – Palma, Mallorca
Following our successful pilot courses in the UK and Mallorca in 2023, MSA (Marine Surveying Academy) is delighted to announce the launch of the long-awaited Yacht Coatings Technical Insight (YCTI) course for the large yacht and superyacht sectors.
There are current market challenges in both these sectors caused by increased demand, reduced timescales, and the cost of complaints and litigation. The YCTI course is a subset of the successful Registered Marine Coatings Inspector (RMCI) course and qualification, and the programme tackles those issues head-on.
Who is this course for?
This is a two-day in-person course, delivered by knowledgeable and experienced tutors. It’s aimed at:
- Vessel managers
- Client representatives
- Project managers in new build and refit yards
- Applicator managers
- Paint company representatives
- General and technical expert coatings and marine surveyors
- Flag state inspectors
- Marine underwriters and insurers.
It’s a course for those who wish to have a deeper technical understanding of large and superyacht coatings, their management and the coatings process in general without becoming an expert RMCI.
What you’ll learn
In brief, this course sets out to:
- Provide a greater understanding of coatings in the large and superyacht market
- Improve the management of coatings projects
- Improve communication and relationships
- Reduce complaints for all parties
- Support all those involved in the coating project.
The cost of the course is £895.00 per delegate (no VAT) and included in the price is a detailed handbook with the technical information discussed in the course. There will also be an online Knowledge Quiz at the end of the course and upon completion, a Certificate of Attendance will be awarded.
If you require further information about the course, email msacourses@iims.org.uk or complete our online form to express your interest. (Note this will not commit you at this stage).
