NEW: Yacht Coatings Technical Insight course

The Marine Surveying Academy, a subsidiary of the International Institute of Marine Surveying, is delighted to announce the success of its new, recently held Yacht Coatings Technical Insight Pilot course, held in Southampton.

Following positive feedback from the pilot course, the team is now working to finalise plans to deliver the training at various locations around the world on an ongoing basis in conjunction with the expert tutors. A series of venues and costs will be announced shortly.

The Yacht Coatings Technical Insight course is a subset of the successful RMCI – Registered Marine Coatings Inspector programme.

So, what’s this new course about?
It is a technical two-day in-person coatings course for those who wish to have a deeper technical understanding of yacht coatings, their management and the coatings process in general without becoming an expert RMCI.

There are current market challenges caused by increased demand, reduced timescales, and the cost of complaints and litigation.

The course aims to:
– Provide greater understanding of coatings in the leisure market;
– Improve the management of coatings projects;
– Improve communication and relationships;
– Reduce complaints for all parties;
– Support all those involved in the coating project.

Who should attend?
The course is likely to appeal to vessel managers, client representatives, project managers in new build and refit yards, applicator managers, paint company representatives, general and technical expert coatings and marine surveyors, flag state inspectors, marine underwriters and insurers – in fact anyone who requires a deeper understanding of coatings.
